LRC-51ÂÒÂ×launches online tutorials booking system, welcomes 25 new LRC PEER tutors
21 October 2025 | Joshua Michael G. Jonas |
UPLB students can now book PEER tutorials with LRC online!
And with the tutors under the Promoting Excellence through Educational Review (PEER) Tutorials Program of the Learning Research Center (LRC) beefed up by almost equal the current number, more tutorial slots should be available for them.
The UPLB LRC and the Research, Communication, and Information Technology (RECOMMIT) officially launched the online PEER Tutorials Program Booking System on September 22, 2025.
It is now one of many online student services that may be accessed through the 51ÂÒÂ× Management (OSAM) System.
The online booking system aims to make tutorial reservations easily accessible, better organized, and manageable.
Junior ICT Associates of RECOMMIT, Adrian Sandoval and Karl Mario Tan, developed the booking system.
UPLB students only need their UP email addresses to access the system and may choose a tutor depending on their schedule.
The tutorials are distributed across five clusters: Cluster 1 (mathematics and engineering), Cluster 2 (biology and forestry), Cluster 3 (chemistry), Cluster 4 (agriculture and economics), and Cluster 5 (physics, statistics, and computer science).
The system shows the available tutors and their schedules every 30 days. Each student may schedule a maximum of three sessions at once, which they must first evaluate before booking another session.
Students must book their sessions at least two days before their preferred schedule.
From the administrative perspective, the system provides an easier overview for the LRC staff and PEER Tutorials team leaders to manage tutorial bookings and schedule and ensure session evaluation.
LRC also formally welcomed 25 new PEER tutors in addition to its current pool of 30 tutors at a simple ceremony during an orientation session at the Student Union building on September 15, 2025. The PEER Tutorials Program fosters collaborative learning among UPLB students.
It provides an avenue for tutors to share their expertise and help their fellow students with their studies and academic requirements.
The PEER Tutorials Program is a component of LRC’s TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) Learning Sessions.
